My very first skein of sock yarn. I’ve started with Cool Aid, using pink lemonade, grape & blue raspberry. I was surprised how much you need, reading the instructions I thought 2 sachets would be fine, but the yarn just absorbed it so fast, I was left with 2 white sections. I quickly made up the grape, & blended it into the other colours, I added some little transition splashes of colour.
Here’s the yarn drying after a quick ‘cook’ in the microwave & a rinse. I was surprised no colour came out.
I have several crochet projects on the go so this will have to wait, until I have time.
Gorgeous!!
Thanks
Fabulous! What a great idea, but I find it a bit scary to consider what the stuff might do to my insides if it can permanently dye yarn…
Thanks, personally I’m convinced our insides are brown, like primary school plasticine
I’ve seen mine, and they’re pink! You get a lot of -oscopies when you’re a coeliac…
I suppose it’s because the cells continually renew themselves, I wonder if cool aid colours them for a while, like kids tongues.
Bet they would, but I for one am not volunteering for the -oscopy that would demonstrate and prove the fact 🙂
Me neither
Oh so gorgeous! ❤ It's such a relief that the colors didn't run; just dye and be done!
Thank you
Cool aid my goodness, but then Cola does all sorts of things, so dye is gr8 use of product
It’s a much better use than the normal one.
Looks beautiful!
Thanks
Looks good , I hope I will get some yarn at Christmas
Thanks, starting to plan it now
Jolly good,
It looks fab! I can’t wait to try dyeing my yarn from Yarndale but it’ll have to wait a while. You got a lovely effect with the colour transitions. 😊
Your yarn looks great and lovely with your crockery. You are very disciplined to wait to see how it works up until you’ve finished other projects 🙂
Thanks, I’m not that disciplined, just not got enough time, & so many projects already on the go.
Beautiful colors!
Thanks
This is beautiful… I love the colours you chose, although I’m not sure I’d ever drink Cool-Aid after seeing how well it works as a dye! I bet it smelled lovely as you were working with it, too 😀
Thanks, I wouldn’t drink it either, some smell better than others
Very pretty!!!
Thanks
So beautiful!!!
Thank you
Wow this looks so pretty! I can’t wait to see what you make with it!!
Thanks
