Apparently I’ve had my little blog 3 years today. I would just like to thank everyone for following me, liking my posts & leaving me comments. I never thought I would have ‘blog friends’ three years ago.
It was my day off, so we’ve been to Leeds Castle in Kent (UK), this year they are celebrating Beatrix Potter.
Jeremy Fisher in the court yard
The Taylor of Gloucester, do look for the mice near the sewing machine
I just like these last two, finally looking back at her desk.
I was an absolutely dismal day so no outside pictures, it was really unusual to be in these rooms on your own, it’s normally really busy, mind you as we were walking back a group of probably foreign students (on their way back to the ferry) passed us, so we were lucky.
What lovely pictures. 🙂
Thanks
Isn’t Leeds Castle wonderful. You’ve definitely enticed me back – who doesn’t love Beatrix Potter?!
Thanks, I do like it & it’s only up the road. The Beatrix Potter at Christmas is on until 2nd Jan
I so LOVE Beatrix Potter stories. Thank you so much for sharing. I love the pictures.
Thanks, I have all the books, I learnt to read on Beatrix Potter & flower fairies. I loved the books but were really difficult to find a the time.
I understand the hard to find. Beatrix Potter is very popular in America as well
Those sort of books were very much out of fashion, in the 70’s, I collected all the books when they were released much later. Apparently there is another book, called Kitty in Boots, that has been recently released. Beatrix Potter wrote the book, but the illustrations were completely be another. I didn’t like the modern drawings, so not for me.
I completely understand
This is so cool, thanks for the trip!
This looks delightful, I love Beatrix Potter, I bought a set for my kids when they were little. I went to Leeds Castle many years ago & loved it, it struck me as one of the few castles I could actually imagine someone living in 🙂
Thanks, yes you could imagine living there, open fires were lit inmost rooms, it was quite cosy.
What a delight! Beatrix Potter was such a fascinating woman. Her drawings and paintings were correct to the tiny details because she spent so much time observing her natural world.
Yes, they are, I think it was the pictures that made me read the books as a child.
Lovely photos ,lucky not to many people it’s usually crowded
thanks for letting us join in the visit ^^
How amazing to see this!! Loved the pictures.
Thanks
I don’t know how I managed to miss this post, but I’ve found it now. Firstly, congratulations on your three year blogiversary, and secondly, what a lovely bunch of photos! I’ve been to Leeds Castle, and it’s a wonderful place, but this exhibition is really special.
Thanks, I don’t know where posts disappear to either. It certainly was a fantastic exhibition, & now I have tickets I can visit all year😀
Congrats on the blog anniversary! That is great! Great pictures. Love the little doll house and the carpet it is on.
Thanks
Congratulations of your 3rd year of blogging and hope you enjoy the 4th.
Thanks for sharing Beatrix Potter’s display. It’s a joy to view everything.
I have the set of books, another on making her characters and a third on knitting garments for children and adults. I have made most of the animals from the 2nd book (some repeated)and a number of items from the 3rd book, and enjoyed creating them.
Thank you so much
