A new project is always exciting,

I have the centres of my frame marked to speed up the process.

Next comes the tricky bit, especially now I have dodgy joints, putting my foot on the frame to tension it

Now to work on the side tension

Finally you tighten the strings, until it is as tight as a drum.

This morning my fabric arrived, the possibilities are endless

What’s the plan for that frame? Can’t wait to see it! The fabric looks yummy. 😀
It’s a landscape. I’m not sure if I will use all the fabrics this time.
well done on getting your fabric all taut and ready on frame! and love all the new fabrics!
Thanks, I’m doing appliqué, so it’s not as tight as a drum yet.
ah!!! so all that colourful fabric is for the appliqué?
Yes, not sure if I will be using it all at this point. I wasn’t completely sure if the colours, when you order online
Nice colourful batiks in the mix of fabrics – but what is the applique?
Thank you. In this case I’m making a picture from the fabrics with embroidery. I will probably add some felt padding to make some areas slightly raised.
Scrumptious fabric. Admire your use of a frame, never quite got the hang of it and do my applique by hand flameless
I do normal quilting style appliqué by hand, with just the needle turned edges, this will be embroidery & will possibly end up slightly 3D. I’m not a fan of holding the frame in your hand, it’s a 24” beechwood frame with embroidery trestles to sit at.
