I made this quilt from a packet of charm squares I brought ages a go, simply because I liked them. I thought they were a bit different. I’m proud to say no new fabric or wadding was purchased.

I’ve finally taken the plunge & opened an online shop with Folksy, called the Sunshine Stitchery studio. I’ve had lots of self doubt, is my work good enough, will anyone want it, all that sort of thing….. and this week I did it.
I got my self some rather snazzy quilt labels & renamed the quilt I made a while ago. I think it’s going to be a very steep learning curve. Like everything I guess perseverance will be required.
Hand quilting mission accomplished. Binding sewn on. It just needs a label & me to finalise a business name. Yay I have something for the shop once I get started.
Happy New year everyone. Another round completed.
The white quilt survived the wash, but due to my washing machine being ‘intelligent’ it weighs what’s in it & adjusts the amount of water it uses. Normally that’s great, but not if you’re trying to wash out the blue preprinted lines, they are still very faintly there, it really needs another wash. It can wait until the better weather.
This is the kit I used, it was really easy to do. You needed wadding , backing & quilting thread too. It’s just small running stitch & it looks stunning, I used a dark variegated purple thread, for a good contrast.
Finally, I’ve finished icing the Christmas cake, I still have a few bits to make as GF cakes don’t seem to keep that well.
Luna & I wish everyone a very happy Christmas.
All the stitching is complete 😁. It’s in the washing machine 🤞🤞let’s hope the blue lines wash out & nothing shrinks 🤞🤞🤞🤞
My paper piecing is slowly growing, adding small pentagon next, I’m not sure if I should finish the stars before adding the next bit or just work my way round. I have a while to think about it.
I’m amazed how much I’ve slowly managed to complete. I hope to push on & finish it soon & another UFO will be complete. 😁
Just finished the centre panel of the white quilt.
Since May we have been having a grand tidy up here, attempting to make space & reduce stuff ( or as non craft people call it clutter). I or rather we have loads of it😓. I would well meaningless buy something I really wanted to make in the school summer holidays, but it never really happened ( teaching & school always got in the way ), hence I have boxes of UFO’s. Each time I open a box, I find a new craft or stuff waiting to be rediscovered. It’s quite exciting 😁
This white quilt was found in a storage box behind the 🛋, the centre had been half completed & now it’s three quarters complete 😁👍. It’s a nice mindless activity for the evening or when I’m really not feeling well, it also stops me snacking in the evening.
Sorry it’s so screwed up, you would be if you had been squashed in a box, for possibly 5 years??. The instructions say the blue markings are washable & I think they might become permanent. I’m so glad it’s printed & I am able 🤞to finish it🤞🤞
