I made this quilt from a packet of charm squares I brought ages a go, simply because I liked them. I thought they were a bit different. I’m proud to say no new fabric or wadding was purchased.

I finished another quilt top this week. We found a pack of charm squares the collection appeared to be called Flying Colours it was by Moda, I have no idea how old it is. It was another of Mum’s building work/ house renovation finds. I didn’t quite have enough charm square for what I wanted to do, but luckily I found some in our charm squares box. I also found a piece of fabric large enough for the backing & I’m hoping it will fit the piece of wadding I have left over 🤞.
Happy New year everyone. Another round completed.
Santa has his elves & I have Luna, normally she’s really good & generally walks round any fabric on the floor, but not today. I did eventually sort out the rest of the border
Another round completed, we now have pink stars & hearts
I managed to sew the block together over the weekend. Now to cut the outer border & work out the order of all the 4 inch squares I cut, back to reading the instructions.
I really loved the look of the solar flare quilt, shown on Tula Pinks update, I showed it to Mum & she brought it for me. I haven’t paper foundation paper pieced for a while. It was lovely to get back into it.
This is the first set I made, I soon got back into the swing of folding, cutting & pressing.
So that’s the big square blocks done, on to the smaller ones
These blocks are triangles, so together they make quite nice squares.
So with 4 of each block made, a large quantity of squares cut, 2 from each fabric & some borders cut.
It’s time to start thinking about construction. Time to grab a coffee & read though the next lot of instructions.
A little bit more progress on my English paper piecing project.
My paper piecing is slowly growing, adding small pentagon next, I’m not sure if I should finish the stars before adding the next bit or just work my way round. I have a while to think about it.
Finished piecing my tumbling blocks quilt, no new fabric purchased😇, so my stash is a little smaller😁.
I’m not a machine quilter, so it has joined the slow lane, of hand quilting.
